This is the English version of the Tabvix Privacy Policy. It provides the same commitments as the Japanese version above. If the two appear to differ, the Japanese version governs.

1. About Tabvix

Tabvix is a Chrome extension with a single purpose: to keep the pages you had open findable later. It does this by:

• listing and tidying your open tabs,
• saving your window and tab layouts as "sessions" that you can restore later, and
• organizing the ChatGPT conversations you had open so you can find them again (AI sessions).

All of these serve that one purpose. Organizing ChatGPT conversations is part of keeping the pages you had open findable — not a separate activity.

A paid Premium add-on provides advanced search, duplicate cleanup, automatic rules, work history, and unlimited saved sessions.

The tab and session information Tabvix handles is stored entirely on your own device and is never sent to our servers.

Only if you purchase Premium do we handle a minimal amount of information — such as your email address — on our servers, in order to confirm your purchase (section 4). While you use Tabvix for free, there is no account, no sign-in, and no communication with our servers.

2. What Tabvix stores on your device

2-1. Open tabs and saved sessions

When a session is saved, Tabvix records:

• the URL and page title of each tab,
• each tab's state (whether it is pinned, whether it is active),
• the window's state (normal, maximized, and so on) and its position and size, and
• information about the session itself (name, type, tags, workspace, and the time it was saved).

2-2. Work history (Premium)

Work history records the state of your open tabs automatically so that you can return to an earlier moment. It stores the same kinds of information as a saved session (URLs, titles, timestamps, and the name and color of tab groups). It is stored only on your device, and the oldest entries are removed automatically once the retention limit is reached.

2-3. Automatic rules (Premium)

Automatic rules are tidying rules such as "when I open this site, send it to that group". Tabvix stores only the conditions you enter and the group name and color. They are stored only on your device.

2-4. AI sessions (ChatGPT conversations)

When you open a ChatGPT conversation page, Tabvix records:

• the URL of the conversation page (with query strings such as ?model= and any fragment removed),
• the title of that page (the name shown on the browser tab),
• timestamps (when it was first seen and when it was last seen), and
• the small amount of bookkeeping that goes with the above: the service name, the conversation ID taken from the URL, and any folder or tags you assign yourself.

Tabvix does not capture any of the following:

• it does not capture the content of your conversations,
• it does not capture anything you type,
• it does not capture ChatGPT's responses,
• it does not read the contents of the page (the DOM).

This is more than a policy: there is no code path that could read page content. Tabvix uses no content scripts and declares no host_permissions, so it has no way to reach inside the ChatGPT page. It detects conversations solely through Chrome's standard tab-update notifications, which tell it that a tab's URL or title changed.

2-5. Settings

Tabvix stores the settings you choose, such as the auto-save interval, the theme, the name of the export folder, and whether AI session recording is on or off.

2-6. What Tabvix does not record

• Tabs in incognito windows are never recorded, neither as sessions nor as AI sessions.
• Pages that are not conversations — the ChatGPT home page, the sign-in screen, and so on — are not recorded.
• While you use Tabvix for free, it does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or address. Only if you purchase Premium do we receive your email address, in order to confirm the purchase (section 4).
• Tabvix does not access cookies, the browsing-history API, bookmarks, form input, or passwords.

3. Where data is stored

Everything Tabvix saves is stored on your own device, in Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage.local), under the keys sessions, settings, workspaces, aiSessions, aiFolders, snapshots (work history), rules (automatic rules), entitlement (your subscription record), and — only if you purchase Premium — authToken (the string used to confirm that Premium is active on this device).

• Your tabs, sessions, work history, and rules are never sent to our servers.
• Tabvix does not use Chrome's synced storage (chrome.storage.sync), so your saved sessions are not automatically copied to your other devices.
• Temporary working data, such as a snapshot of your most recent tab layout, is kept in storage that Chrome clears when the browser closes (chrome.storage.session), and is discarded at that point.

If you uninstall Tabvix from Chrome, Chrome deletes its extension storage along with it.

4. Information handled when you purchase Premium

This section applies only if you purchase Premium.

4-1. What our servers receive

Your tab URLs and titles, saved sessions, work history, automatic rules, ChatGPT conversation records, and settings are never transmitted — not even for Premium users. They remain on your device.

4-3. Card details

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers and other card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.

4-4. Processors

We use the following services to confirm purchases and take payment:

• Stripe (payments)
• An email delivery service used to send verification codes

4-5. Retention and deletion

• Subscription records are kept for as long as the subscription lasts and for any period required by law.
• If you would like your account deleted, please contact us at the address in section 10. We will delete your subscription records, except where the law requires us to keep them.
• Deleting your account does not delete the data on your device (sessions, history, rules, and so on). You can delete that yourself from within the extension (section 7).

5. External transmission and third parties

• Tabvix does not send the tabs, sessions, work history, or rules you have saved to anywhere outside your device. This is the same on the free and Premium versions.
• Apart from the information exchanged to confirm a Premium purchase (section 4), no communication with our servers takes place.
• Tabvix performs no analytics, usage measurement, or crash reporting. No analytics or tracking library is bundled with it.
• Tabvix does not share data with third-party advertisers.
• Tabvix does not sell personal data.
• Tabvix does not transmit conversation content, or any other data, for AI training purposes. It never captures conversation content in the first place.

Tabvix does display tab icons (favicons). It does so through the local favicon facility that Chrome provides to extensions, which draws on icons Chrome already holds on your device; Tabvix itself makes no request to any external site.

6. Chrome permissions

Tabvix declares no host_permissions and uses no content scripts. It therefore cannot read the contents of any web page, ChatGPT included.

Solely for purchasing Premium and confirming a purchase, Tabvix declares two more things:

7. Managing and deleting your data

You can review and delete everything Tabvix stores.

• Delete a saved session: use "delete" on an individual session, from either the popup or the management page.
• Delete auto-saved sessions in bulk: the management page can remove, in one action, the sessions created by auto-save and by "save when a window closes".
• Limit how many auto-saves are kept: set a retention count in the settings; older auto-saves are then removed automatically. Sessions you saved by hand are exempt.
• Delete an AI session: use the delete control on an individual record in the AI sessions view. Deleting a folder does not delete its records — they return to the Inbox.
• Stop recording AI sessions: turn off "record ChatGPT conversations automatically" in the settings, and no further conversations will be recorded.
• Delete everything on your device: uninstall Tabvix from Chrome, and Chrome removes its stored data.
• Delete your subscription records: see section 4-5 and contact us.

8. Import and export

• Export writes your saved sessions and workspaces to a JSON file in your device's downloads folder; a single session can also be written out as a text file. The output is a local file only — nothing is transmitted anywhere. Note that exports contain sessions and workspaces; AI sessions are not included.
• Import reads a local JSON file that you select and merges the sessions and workspaces it contains into your existing data. The file is read entirely within your browser; no server is involved.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as features are added or changed. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this document, and the updated text applies from that point.
